CLAD - Clear Language and Design Canadian Literacy Facts
Aging and the Need for Clear Language

Within 25 years, one in five Canadians will be over 65. Right now, six out of 10 Canadian seniors never completed high school, and 37% have less than a Grade 9 education. Older readers have special reading needs, including:

Bullet larger type
Bullet good use of colour and design to guide the eye
Bullet safe, easy to follow instructions.

Canadian seniors spend more than $20 billion a year on goods and services.
